AAU Junior Olympics - "Sports for All, Forever"

The 38th Annual Junior Olympic Games were held in Des Moines, Iowa July 27, 2004 thru August 8, 2004. The preliminarily competition for the baton twirling portion of the Junior Olympics began on August 3rd. Baton twirling was added to the Junior Olympic game six years ago.

Twirling Unlimited 2004 Championships

Twirling Unlimited held their 2004 International Championships August 6th thru August 8th at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. The weekend was packed with individual and team events including Miss TU World Majorette, TU International Individual Event Championships and TU International Team Competition. read more

Twirler Performs in Iowa Games Opening Ceremonies

5-year-old twirler, Michaela Rader, was featured at the Iowa Summer Games in Ames, Iowa. The Iowa Games is an Olympic-style competition of multiple sports held for Iowa's amateur athletes. The State Games are recognized as a member of the United States Olympic Committee and a project of the Iowa Sports Foundation. read more

AYOP 2004 ΓÇô View from the Top

This year, the week of July 18th was deemed ΓÇ£National Twirling Week.ΓÇ¥ That time was spent celebrating twirling with the National Baton Twirling Association (NBTA)ΓÇÖs national competition held at Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana. Twirlers from all over the United States and Canada traveled to compete in this weeklong event.
