Penn State Majorettes capture their 6th National Collegiate Majorette Line Championship Title

South Bend, IN ΓÇô On Friday, July 20, 2007 at Notre Dame University, the Penn State Majorettes walked away with the 2007 National Collegiate Majorette Line Halftime Show Team Twirling Championship title.  The squad displayed pure twirling excitement, school spirit and head on competition against other top collegiate majorette lines.  This was the Touch of BlueΓÇÖs sixth time to compete at the National Championships.  This yearΓÇÖs majorette squad impressed judges with an incredible routine.  A halftime show routine performed to music from the Penn State Blue Band and musical selections from the motion picture soundtrack, ΓÇ£The WizΓÇ¥.  The Penn State Majorette squad competed against the popular Westchester University Majorettes and the University of Alabama, Birmingham.

The Penn State Majorettes received a traveling Trophy, scholarship money and the ultimate claim as the top National Collegiate Majorette Line in the United States.  The squad is instructed by Heather Bean and the Director of Bands is Dr. Richard O. Bundy.  In addition to the team excitement, the Grand National Collegiate Twirling Championships were also held during the ΓÇ£College NightΓÇ¥.  PJ Maierhoffer, Penn StateΓÇÖs Blue Sapphire, was also able to compete with the majorette line while still representing Penn State as a solo contestant where she won the Grand National College title ΓÇô Penn State dominated the collegiate arena of twirling this year! 

The 2007 Collegiate Championship competition was by far an exciting event and there will be more to come next year!  Congratulations to the Penn State Majorettes ΓÇô 2007 National Majorette Line Halftime Show Team Champions.
