Katie Goodwin, Salina, has recently been named the 2005-2006 Kansas State University Feature Twirler by Dr. Frank Tracz, Director of Bands.
She has been awarded $2,000 in scholarship and uniform allowance. Katie will be a junior majoring in Speech Pathology and has performed as a KSU Wildcat Twirler for the past 2 years.
All KSU auxiliary positions are decided through an annual audition process. Twirlers are selected through a preliminary video followed by a live invitational audition with selection based on the top videos.
As the KSU Feature Twirler, Katie will perform with the 300+ Pride of Wildcat Land Marching Band at all home football games, select games, parades, half-time for the Kansas City Chiefs, prospective bowl games, basketball games, special events, rallies and KSU representation affairs.
Katie has held numerous local, State Regional and National NBTA Titles. She is a member of ShannonΓÇÖs Stars National Competition Team at ShannonΓÇÖs Stars Twirling Club, Salina, Kansas. Katie is the daughter of Steve & Dorothy Goodwin and is under the direction of Shannon Meis.
