Collegiate Field Performance Winner Emily Bright of Iowa State
AMES, Iowa - While many Iowa State student-athletes are in the midst of their summer training regimens, sophomore Emily Bright is hard at work competing.
Two weeks ago (week of July 21st), the Norwalk, Iowa native participated in a multitude of events at the 2008 Baton Nationals held at Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. Bright garnered top-10 finishes in almost every event in which she competed, capturing first place in Collegiate Field Performance.

Kristen Mann Feature Twirler for California Polytechnic State University
Kristen Mann has been named the feature twirler at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for the 2008-2009 school year. Kristen was previously the captain and feature twirler at Santiago High School in Corona, CA where she just graduated as the class valedictorian. She will be majoring in Political Science. She holds the title of 2008 Miss Majorette of California, Intermediate - Senior Division.

Fourth U.S. Collegiate and High School Twirling Championships
Oxford, IN – Middle Tennessee State University and Saline High School (MI) took top honors in the Fourth U.S. Collegiate and High School Twirling Championships held Feb. 2 at Benton Central High School in Oxford. The exciting day of competition featured twirlers from high schools, colleges and universities in a dozen states from Connecticut to Texas.

University of Tennessee - Twirling Camp
In June 2007, the University of Tennessee held their first ever mini twirling camp in Knoxville, TN. They held their camp in conjunction with the Twirltacular Grand Championships contest and what a turnout of campers! All proceeds were used for the upcoming football season twirling expenses. They made over $2,000 for their football twirling expenses, an accomplishment itself.

Penn State Majorettes capture their 6th National Collegiate Majorette Line Championship Title
South Bend, IN – On Friday, July 20, 2007 at Notre Dame University, the Penn State Majorettes walked away with the 2007 National Collegiate Majorette Line Halftime Show Team Twirling Championship title. The squad displayed pure twirling excitement, school spirit and head on competition against other top collegiate majorette lines. This was the Touch of Blue’s sixth time to compete at the National Championships.

Penn State University Feature Twirler reigns victorious at the Super Bowl of Baton Twirling
South Bend, IN – On Friday, July 20, 2007 at Notre Dame University, PJ Maierhofer, captured the 2007 Grand National Collegiate Twirling Championship Title. She displayed pure twirling excitement, athleticism and head on competition against 35 other collegiate contestants. PJ, a 19 year old - PSU Junior, electrified Judges and the audience with a 1, 2, 3, and 4 baton routine that exhibited what true athletic twirling is all about.

Third Intercollegiate Baton Twirling Competition
Purdue University will be the host for the third Intercollegiate Baton Twirling Competition which will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Benton Central High School. Benton Central is located about 20 miles northwest of Purdue University. This school has a very large gymnasium with a dome ceiling. Hotel headquarters will be the University Inn in West Lafayette just off the Purdue campus. The Benton Central School address is 4241 East 300 South, Oxford, Indiana 47971.
