The Penn State Marching Band and feature twirler PJ Maierhofer had a unique opportunity to open the 2006 Spring/Summer Marc Jacobs fashion show held in New York City. Maiernofer's introduced a new level of twirling to a star studded audience, wowing the crowd with rolls, leaps and twirling tricks. read more

Bay State Games

The Bay State Summer and Winter Games are organized annually by the Massachusetts Amateur Sports Foundation. The Bay State Summer Games are an Olympic-Style Sports Festival that allows its participants to not only have a great experience in their sport, but to take in all the other competitions that the Games' offer. 2005 marks the 24th anniversary of the Bay State Summer Games. What started as an event with 300 participants in 4 sports, has grown to include almost 7,000 athletes in 25 sports! read more

AYOP 2005 - View from the Top

July 19th thru July 23rd, twirlers gathered to compete and celebrate twirling at the National Baton Twirling AssociationΓÇÖs (NBTA) national competition held at Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana. Twirlers from all over the United States and Canada traveled to compete in this weeklong event.

Twirl Mania 2005

TwirlZone recently spoke with Joyce Perrone, contest director of the 10th annual Twirl Mania Championships held February 18th thru Febuary 21st at the Disney Wild World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida. The 2005 Twirl Mania event brought together over four thousand twirlers from different leagues to celebrate the sport of twirling. Athletes travel as far as Ireland, England, Scotland, Netherlands and Thailand to take part in the Twirl Mania contest. read more

NCABT First Intercollegiate Competition

The first Intercollegiate Baton Twirling Competition was held in Lebanon, Tennessee, January 30, 2005. College twirling teams from all over the United States were invited to participate in this competition to promote twirling into the NCAA. read more
