Andrea Annette Birdcreek, former baton twirling champion and nationally renowned baton twirling coach and judge, died at home August 11 after a 16 year battle with breast cancer.

Third Intercollegiate Baton Twirling Competition

Purdue University will be the host for the third Intercollegiate Baton Twirling Competition which will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Benton Central High School. Benton Central is located about 20 miles northwest of Purdue University. This school has a very large gymnasium with a dome ceiling. Hotel headquarters will be the University Inn in West Lafayette just off the Purdue campus. The Benton Central School address is 4241 East 300 South, Oxford, Indiana 47971. Iowa Dance Studio Owner Wins New Convertible Mustang in Nationwide Business Improvement Contest

Los Angeles- Jan Stivers of the Norwalk, Grimes & Carlisle Superstars Baton, Dance & Tumbling Center was named winner in an 18 Month business improvement contest. The national contest encourages studio owners to implement new business ideas and improve the operations, revenue and customer experience that their studio delivers to the community.

Michigan's Royalty on Parade, under the direction of Julie Bornefeld, recently gathered twirlers of several twirling teams to perform at the Detroit Pistons Basketball halftime show on January 3rd, 2006. The halftime extravaganza included dancers, pom dancers and twirlers to entertain the loyal Piston crowd. read more

NCABT Second Intercollegiate Competition

The second Intercollegiate Baton Twirling Competition was held in Lebanon, Tennessee, January 21, 2006. College twirling teams and high school twirlers from all over the United States were invited to participate in this competition hosted by the National Coalition for the Advancement of Baton Twirling (NCABT). read more
