“Battle of the Berkshires” Benefit Contest a SUCCESS!
“The Battle of the Berkshires” ALL TROPHY* benefit contest held in Springfield, Massachusetts, on November 7, 2004, raised seventeen hundred and two dollars for Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
*per NBTA rules—medals were awarded for Novice
20 teams and many soloists from Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire took to the floor in friendly competition to raise money for the Jimmy Fund. The event proved to be an excellent warm-up contest for the new twirling season with a practice gym connected to the main gym.

“The contest ran like CLOCKWORK! Having eight judges, many tabulators and clerks give up their day for twirling and the Jimmy Fund certainly helped. Many hands make light work. Everyone reported ON TIME, even early!. Everyone took a quick lunch break and kept the contest kept moving. I was so amazed at how early we got out! 3:30 pm WITH a twirl-off!”, contest observer
The highlight of the day was a twirl-off of all first place solo winners in the Advanced, Intermediate, Beginner, Novice levels for the 2004 Battle of the Berkshires Twirl-Off trophies.
